This fall in their vocational lessons, the Center for Living and Learning’s trainees are learning about respect, including self respect, respect in the workplace, and appreciating each others’ differences. They are exploring how this helps them problem solve with teammates and promote a positive work culture. In mental health lessons, they are learning about the importance of self-awareness and identifying their beliefs and values. Trainees are also practicing perspective building to develop greater self-awareness.

The trainees have been embracing Halloween in their creative groups by making ceramic ghosts in art class, roasting pumpkin seeds with different flavor enhancements in cooking class, and solving mysteries in reading group by reading various Sherlock Holmes short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
