MEET

Chris Johnston, LCSW

Chris Johnston’s path to therapy wasn’t conventional. While working in job training at The Center and pursuing music, a colleague encouraged him to explore a career in mental health. That inspiration led him to earn his Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2012.
Before founding Spring Hill Therapy, Chris worked in diverse settings, including the Public Defender’s Office and the St. Thomas Kidney Transplant Unit, always seeking new ways to apply behavioral health practices he learned at school and at The Center. In 2019, he transitioned to full-time private practice, creating a welcoming space for his community. Recently, he returned to The Center to provide on-site counseling for residents and staff, as needed. Learn more about Chris here.
