Center for Living and Learning offers job training in a “Community Rehabilitation Program” on a 20 acre farm.
Program features are:
- Year round work program operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Work adjustment, job training, job placement, job coaching services.
- CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program – memberships are pre-sold to the public for the entire growing season. Each week from June to October, members pick up their box of produce that has been freshly picked by the trainees.
- Assistance with creating a resume, completing job applications and interviewing with potential employers.
- Job skills training.
- Emphasis is placed on having a professional attitude at work and working as a team member with co-workers.
- The “School to Work” program is offered to high school students 16 years and older. The students earn a class credit for completing the program.
The goals of the vocational program are to train clients, build self-confidence and assist with job placement when
the participant is ready for employment in the community.
Job skills are taught in four areas – Horticulture, light assembly work, bicycle repair, and arts and crafts.
